Multicultural approach, quality and economic reliability. Over a thousand interviews assess the company’s performance from economic, social and environmental perspectives
Euro&Promos, a leading player in the facility management services sector, approved its first sustainability report and did so by involving stakeholders, suppliers and collaborators.
More than a thousand interviews provided a snapshot of the company’s performance from economic, social and environmental perspectives.
The company’s sustainability report is thus an articulated document that, through a precise set of indicators and parameters and listening to so-called stakeholders-employees, customers, suppliers and lenders-was listened to, presents and objectively analyzes the results achieved over time.
“Euro&Promos,” explains Alberto Tavano Colussi, the company’s CEO, “decided to embark on this path to make the most of 3 founding components of ESG principles: economics, the environment and people. Our company can continue to be competitive only if it is able to enhance its human resources, minimize waste, including that of raw materials and energy, and give itself organized governance, setting long-term goals and plans.”
From an economic and financial point of view, the company, which offers cleaning, sanitizing, industrial cleaning, warehouse logistics, mechanical maintenance and carpentry works, concierge, and management services in cultural, soft & hard facilities, exceeded revenues of 126 million euros during 2021, with a 20 percent increase in turnover and an EBITDA of 17 million euros.
Euro&Promos FM S.p.A., headquartered in Udine and with eight offices scattered throughout the country, is an important reference point for the economy of the territories in which it operates, where it can count on more than 1,000 suppliers and 400 contracts.
“Important job orders have been started during 2022 and further start-ups are expected in the last quarter of the year, adjudications ranging from international industrial operators to the health sector, from important universities to services provided in infrastructure contracts,” explains Tavano Colussi.
There are 5600 employees, with women touching 75 percent of the total workforce. During 2021, 1326 people were hired, 60 percent of whom are under 30, and it has a projection of 300 additional new hires between now and the end of the year.
Also during the past year, it has provided more than 16 thousand hours of training, so as to ensure that its employees can further specialize.
“Inclusion and multiculturalism,” the CEO continues, “are founding values of our company. Within Euro&Promos there are employees of 76 different nationalities. Precisely in order to enhance multiculturalism, a special internal communication path has been devised that allows us to cultivate positive and close relationships, aimed at strengthening the path of all those who work with us.”
Euro&Promos also continues to invest in research and development, putting in place concrete environmental protection policies.
“We are ready,” says the CEO, “to embrace the changes that the transition to a sustainable economy will put in front of us, remembering that our company, with a clear choice of corporate social responsibility, has long fielded technologies and ideas to materialize a change to operate every day in respect of the environment and the communities, large and small, that host us. Energy resource consumption indices are steadily declining.”
Euro&Promos in fact deploys increasingly less impactful tools, the result of the constant work done by the in-house research&development center that collaborates with university academia.
In the field of cleaning for example, the aim is to use less and less products, having the same result in terms of effectiveness, and thanks to research, the purchase of chemicals, the most environmentally impactful, has dropped in the last three years by more than 15 percent.
The company in this very field has obtained more than 20 certifications of excellence and awards in the field including, for eco friendly product selection, the Ecolabel and for energy impact reduction the Carbon Footprint, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 and then again EMAS certification.
“Our ‘professionals of the invisible,’ quoting the payoff,” he concludes, “make sustainability a visible, tangible element, day in and day out, in a historical moment that is anything but simple, precisely for a significant sector such as facility management.”
