The company library: the innovative project for the city of Barletta, candidate for ITALIAN BOOK CAPITAL 2022

Barletta is a candidate for the title of Italian Book Capital 2022, the prestigious title promoted by the Ministry of Culture – Directorate General for Libraries and Copyright – which is awarded from 2020 to cities that have obtained the title of “City that reads”.

The Dossier, drawn up by the Administration with the support of universities and research institutes adhering to the “Pact for reading in the city of Barletta”, is divided into various sections describing the city’s cultural context, library activities and proposals aimed at social inclusion, innovation, promotion of reading and training, with a timetable, monitoring, business plan and evaluation.

Euro&Promos actively collaborated in the drafting of the Dossier and in the presentation of the candidature, proposing the “Libri in fabbrica” project, the company library for companies in the Barletta area, designed to bring workers and their families closer to books and reading.

By sharing books, paper, electronic and audio-visual titles offered by public institutions to the territorial community, the company makes its knowledge available, thus helping learning and study, as well as conveying its image and role, which the territorial user will be pleased to discover.

The “Libri in fabbrica” project also involves sharing spaces to propose literary events, workshops and meetings with authors open to workers and their families.

“Books at the factory’ stems from the desire to focus on relationships and culture, which are fundamental elements for the creation of value. The project therefore makes it possible to optimise the reconciliation of working time with the cultural activities of workers.

The project proposal “Books in the factory. Active literary presidium in the company” responds to the objectives of the 2030 Agenda in the points: Goal 8 “Decent work and economic growth”, Goal 9 “Enterprise, innovation and infrastructure”, Goal 10 “Reducing inequalities”, Goal 11″ Sustainable cities and communities”.
